CO-FOUNDER & DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Vicky completed her research PhD in Medicine in 2020 after a 17-year career in medical research. During her PhD, she participated in several entrepreneurship courses including, CSIRO’s ON Prime, University of Adelaide’s Tech eChallange and the Australian-French Entrepreneurship Challenge. More recently, Vicky was the recipient of the 2022 Women in Innovation Award for Emerging Innovator. Vicky now manages the R&D operations of Woven Optics, alongside co-founder Ben Pullen.

CO-FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR

With over a decade’s experience working in the sciences, Ben’s drive to put knowledge into practice led him to co-found Woven Optics in 2018. Since then, he has carried that passion into the wool space as he works to develop new technology for the industry. Ben now manages the day-to-day operations of Woven Optics, alongside co-founder Vicky Alexandrou.

DIRECTOR & WOOL GROWER

Tom continues his families more than 100 year tradition in wool as an internationally regarded merino stud breeder. He is the former President of the World Federation of Merino Breeders, and remains active advising and delivering sheep genetics globally. Tom joined Woven Optics early on and is an invaluable source of knowledge, ensuring that we remain focussed on delivering genuinely beneficial technology to farmers.

Heiniger Australia, under the stewardship of Gary Lyons for almost three decades, has grown to be the market leader and a “one stop shop” for wool-harvesting requisites and animal fibre harvesting products. Gary has a deep knowledge of the wool sector, and what it takes to be commercially successful within it.

Dale is the General Manager of Sales and Marketing at Heiniger Australia, and a passionate wool grower. He works diligently with the team to maximise customer engagement and feedback as we move towards our first sales.

Hayden is an experienced machine learning and full stack developer, bringing a wealth of knowledge and in-house expertise to the team as he continually improves our software solutions that form the foundation of the technology in farmers hands.
